Late opening until 7pm, every second Thursday of the month.
The Reading Room is open Wednesday-Friday 10am-4pm, and extended Saturday opening hours 1.00pm – 4.00pm.
Black Cultural Archives is located on Windrush Square in the heart of Brixton, South London and has excellent public transport links.
London Underground and Rail
3-5 minute walk from Brixton tube and rail station.
Buses: 2, 3, 35, 37, 45, 59, 109, 118, 133, 159, 196, 250, 333, 415, 432, P4, P5.
Travelling on the A23, follow Brixton Road until you reach the junction and take the turning on to Effra Road. Effra Road is adjacent to the Black Cultural Archives.
There are no parking facilities, and parking is limited in the local area. We recommend, when possible, to travel via public transport. There are pay and display and Blue Badge spaces located on Effra Road adjacent to the Black Cultural Archives.
