Our Learning Approach

We place our archive at the forefront of our learning and exhibitions programming.

Our Learning Team develops programmes that truly consider their audiences, by focusing on both informal learning (community organisations, adults, youth and families) and formal learning (schools, further, higher and adult education).

Our learning aims:

  • Create programmes and events based on our unique archive collection.
  • Develop partnerships and outreach activities that promote the development of community archive material.
  • Collaborate and form reciprocal relationships with other archives in order to provide enhanced narratives for exhibitions and displays.

Working with specialists to enhance our learning offer

We work with contributors and specialists who bring creativity and fresh interpretation to our schools, young people and adult programmes. We have a vibrant and well-informed collective of historians, curators, actors, performers, artists, musicians, speakers and practical workshop leaders, who bring in-depth expertise, energy, flexibility and innovative ideas and approaches to our learning offering and delivery style.
