What would life be like if Aunty didn’t tell you the family gossip? Or, if Grandma never passed on the secret ingredient to the family dish? Imagine if we didn’t have legends and folktales or traditions of oral history recording?

We look at the role that culture plays in maintaining our sense of family and heritage and what happens when we grow up without this.  Finding out who we are requires some understanding of our past, but living in such a fast-paced society can often deter us from having those critical conversations about where we have come from and the stories we are born into.

Join our participatory workshop to discuss what happens to cultural and family memory once pieces of the puzzle are missing and how communities are effected once their stories are taken away and the elders are gone.
